Lee Park Golf Club is a challenging but easy on the feet mature parkland course. “Best parkland greens seen” said our independent R & A agronomist. Our 90 acre course is always immaculately maintained from tee to green and we have spent over £100k spent on improving fairway drainage.
Our 3 separate practice facilities are now the best in the area. A new dedicated warm up facility has just opened by the club house – a putting green with 3 flag positions – for chipping and wedge shots; green side bunker and 2 bay driving nets. A short driving separate practice area with 3 all weather bays, green and greenside bunker by the car park. Also a practice green in front of the club house.
We are the “greenest” ecological club in Lancashire – and the course is now recognised as a wildlife oasis. We have been independently reviewed and gained 5 awards in the past 8 years for our commitment to these sustainable green policies.
Our most recent environmental awards are :- In 2015 the club came second to Royal St David’s in the UK Golf Club of Year for the Environment and then in 2016 we came second to Carnoustie in the UK Operation Pollinator award.
In 2014 we built one of the best scenic finishing holes on Merseyside – a green side lake; with a bridge, waterfall and a surrounding ditch using local sandstone. This feature was built solely in house by our staff and members.
We are the only club on Merseyside to have been accredited by the EGU with Golf Mark and Club Mark – these gold standard awards recognising our junior friendly policies and progressive business approach to club management.
